I knew I had just seem something seriously cool. I had never seen anyone dance like that before, and as a massive Michael Jackson fan as a kid I can say with my hand on my heart that no one since good MJ until now.
Here is the first video that went crazy viral (blugh) mad on YouTube.
This guy is something else. That video went on to get 5M hits in under a week and then he was on Ellen;
And went on to have almost 15M hits as of writing this. I have watched that first video now at least 20 times marvelling over his popping and locking and the way he has perfected, Marcel Marceau-esque manouvers (there is even a weird similarity with his name going on!) that make him look like his is made of impossible joints that work in reverse.
He has a new video which is just as good if not better than the first. Albeit a few more production values seem to have snuck in
What an absolute gift to watch and to know that he can do this in front of a live audience just gives me goosebumps. Wish I could pop and lock like that!
It has since lead me on a discovery of seemingly underground dance movements popping up in the mainstream. Do you know what the Dougie is? Or Jerking?
They are both seriously weird arse looking new-age breakdance moves where everything is kinda backwards weird like the little dude in Twin Peaks but ultimately cool. Even Justin Bieber Jerks and does an okay Dougie.
Until next time, I’m just keepin up with the cool kids.
