Baxter the amazing leaping Schitzu

This is a bit out of character from my normal blogging style I think but I am so enamoured with my puppy at the moment, (he’s full grown dog really at 7yo, just little and fluffy) that I had no choice but to share these images of a dogs life in the sun.

Baxter is a Schitzu cross Jack Russell Terrier and loves to chase things.

This is Daisy, a plush toy cow that he is chasing, but there is a dip from the deck to the concrete back drive, so as he incessantly nags for Daisy to be thrown, I have been practising catching leaping action shots.

I think they came up pretty good. I think he has a character that comes through in the pictures.

What do you think?

I’ve managed to convince myself that each one is funnier than the last, something about the expression of movement.

Baxter-action-leaping-blog-content-fourOr the ridiculous look of a dog carrying a plush cow that looks like it is from 1942.

Baxter-action-leaping-blog-content-oneI like the distinction we are seeing between shutter speed and actual launch. Sometimes he achieves a much flatter body full length stretch, yet in other shots the launch is just starting, not quite anti-gravity…

Like this next one… floating through space and time…

Baxter-action-leaping-blog-content-sixOr this mid launch self propelled rocketdogbulldozer.

Baxter-action-leaping-blog-content-twoGotta love the Baxter. He’s got the smarts.
