STOP. Hammer time!

This is possibly the stupidest thing I have ever posted.

It might not even make sense to you, but if you have ever felt passionately about Windows XP, or maybe if you miss it and all of its pop-up ugliness, then you might just get a chuckle out of it.

It gave me that ridiculous internal laugh for quite a bit.

Anyway, stop. Hammer time.

Sorry I don’t know where it came from originally to credit anyone.

  1. Believe it or not. That was me. I was at Secondary school when I made that, I was so unbelievably bored until a friend showed me pop up generator and I noticed that the internet has this thing for the song “Can’t touch this.” but to preserve my identity I left the author name blank. Little did I know that it would become so popular, but with nobody to know who made it. I never said anything about it since I made in 2005 thinking nobody would believe me, but I do have eye witness account, that’s the closet I can get to it. Who knew that one of the internet’s biggest jokes was made by a 13 year old English kid who knew next to little about the internet at the time?

    • Man if that is true, I feel honoured to hear from you. I think these were a real stroke of genius and just totally appealed to my inner frustrated geek.
You did good (apart from the author thang).

      • Yes. That was definitely me, It is a shame I couldn’t find the original link anymore, what really surprised me though was the fact nobody actually took credit for it for 7 years, and I never noticed how popular it was until now. Sorry it took so long to inform the internet, but I’m sure I put my name to credit at least one of those popups. Shame I couldn’t find the website again to make more, but still it was good to see people liked it, now they can all know who did it, and it was thanks to you I finally had the courage to say. Thank you.

  2. That and I was the person that came up with the “Uh oh you’re screwed” pop up and the “delete Windows” pop up and that’s all the proof I have I’m afraid, if you choose not to believe me that’s fine. I just feel now is the time that the internet knows who made them, I never thought they were that good though, but I’m not complaining that people like it so much.
